Vehicle by Barge from Seattle

Notice the snow covered peaks in the background above the passenger side taillight.  We experienced serious wind yesterday, followed by a light dusting of snow this morning.  Though, some of the locals said the wind, just wasn't that bad, a plastic edge piece was ripped off of our building last night and pinned between the wall and a pipe.  At least we found out the source of what that sound had been.
We are with car now.  Boy is it odd to put keys into an ignition and be able to get somewhere without having wet armpits from a long hike.  Simple chores can be accomplished now without having to worry about placing a strain on relationships by continually asking for a ride.  Ah, this kind of technology is far superior to the leg kind.

The process started in the second week of August and came to a conclusion on yesterday.  Had it not have been for the bank not understanding our address situation, it would have been here a couple of weeks quicker.

What address situation?  Oh, that.  Here on the island physical addresses just don't exist.  We have roads with names and houses are scattered about on them, but there are no mailboxes, house numbers, or even fire signs.  We did think that it was odd that the school had listed a couple of different numbers followed by a street name prior to arriving, but thought instead that it meant different departments.  Nope.

So what was the problem?  Well, we made up an address, and it is not unheard of in these parts, even at the DMV the person did not even blink at it.   Places are off the map here.  Anyways, companies won't send certain items to a post office box.  So we made up an address to bypass that.  We simply put the number of our post office box followed by the street that we live on and bam, we have an address.  The only time it is a problem is when we have to oh, I don't know, buy a car from another state that wants to charge sales tax in said state.

Everything is ironed out now and all is a-okay.  Just another one of those, huh, so that is what its like there things.
