So don't worry family, our island is shielded by a larger island, Unga. Worst case scenario, we live next to the Tsunami evacuation center, the school. From the reports, we have nothing to worry about.
On a side note, three Tokyo bound planes were redirected to Anchorage last night.
**11:48 a.m.** One of the teachers here at school called home and checked in with her husband (their home is on the beach). Her husband said, "I've never seen anything like this before, the tide keeps going in and out every five minutes."
Normally, the tide follows a 12 hour schedule. Of all days we have to be at work... I would have loved to check it out.
So glad to hear all is ok!! the news channels never seem to show or talk about AK!!!
