Last berry pick & bring on week 6

Had another whirlwind of a week.  It was my week to teach PE with the 1st and 2nd grade kids this time around.  We had three intense days filled with soccer and the final day spent outdoors to take in the sunlight.  The set up the other teacher and I have is pretty nice.  I teach a week, she does the next, and the following is swim week.  We each have two weeks off, unless we opt to join the kids in the pool, which is pretty super and hard for me to pass up.  Something about splashing around with a cannonball contest or a swim race is the cat's pajamas.

Saturday, made up some blueberry muffins and made banana bread.  The bananas seemed like they might be a tad overdue, but made up some great bread.  This picture was taken from my first go around with berry picking.  I have since been out two more times and acquired half a pound more.

Prior to coming over, a friend called up and said, "If you have a deep fryer, then I could bring some halibut."  Yes and yes.  We were planning on a game night with some light snacks, so the mention of fried fish was an unexpected surprise.

Apples to Apples.  If you've ever played this game, then you know how it goes.  Basically, someone draws a card that says, "natural", and the other players hand over a card that they think the other person may pick.  Depending on the person, some cards are literal, whereas others are played as inside jokes in hopes of getting picked.  If your card is chosen, you acquire the green card.   First to get 7 green cards wins.  Nate's card was "Idiotic".  The other players including me threw down what we thought he might think was.  His choices were "Sunday Day Drivers, Alien Abductions, or The South".   He chose Alien Abductions, yay me!   We all did a lot of laughing last night.

This tote contains 200 McDonald's cheeseburgers.  They were brought back from Anchorage and will be sold to support a fundraiser for the seniors.  A student stopped by and delivered them to Nate, whom is their adviser.  By the way, 200 cheeseburgers from Anchorage will set one back $350 and weighed in at 51.5 pounds.  The maximum allowance for bags is 50 lbs without charge, which is why there is an additional bag o' burgers in the white bag on top (it must have been a carry on).  I was much happier than this picture may suggest, Nate said the look on my face was so funny, half blink, that it was a winner.  Why not?

Berry picking with a friend.  It was a tad breezy, but it was nice to get some sun.  Plus, wearing big rubber boots paired with rain paints got a little warm in the sun.  I think it was around 46, but the wind off that water can get pretty cold.
